Yayo Kawamura, born in 1967, grew up between Germany and Japan. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, she moved to Berlin where she studied communication design and now lives with her family. She has been working as a children’s book artist since 2001 and has developed and illustrated over 100 books, games and nonbooks. Her series “Pepe and Milli” has sold 100,000 copies in Germany and over a million copies worldwide.
