Mirjam Zels was born in Regensburg in 1989 and grew up in Dresden. She trained in illustration and graphic design in Nuremberg, Hamburg and Tel Aviv. Just like Amelie, Mirjam Zels very much enjoys travelling the world and to herself, researching, collecting stories and new adventures and celebrating all the wonderful encounters along the way. Amelie’s story came to her when she was living in Israel and Palestine – a time that touched and shaped Mirjam Zels very much and taught her that friendship is possible even despite the greatest differences. And when Mirjam Zels is not travelling the world, she works as a freelance illustrator and author in Hamburg.
