The artist and illustrator Katharina Naimer was born in Lower Bavaria in 1979. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Until 2017, she ran the children’s studio PABLiTO and worked mainly on art and creative projects with children, before she turned back to her own artistic work. Her work focuses on fairytale and fantastic works in her favourite materials of ceramics, paper and cardboard, including large-scale and movable sculptures.
Katharina Naimer lives with her family on a former farm in the Bavarian Forest.
Rotkäppchen (Little Red Riding Hood), her first picture book published by Edition Bracklo, was recommended by the Stiftung Buchkunst as one of the Most Beautiful German Books (longlist) and was named Book of the Month for July 2021 by the German Academy for Children’s and Young Adult Literature.
