This is Mr Mandelmus. Mr Mandelmus never walks.

This is how Michael Roher introduces the protagonist of his new picture book. Mr Mandelmus is a portly and cheerful chap, but he never takes a single step more than he has to. A scooter, a car, a delivery service – these are his modes of transport; he even sends his dachshund out for a walk by drone.

But one day, Mr Mandelmus exclaims: I’m walking today! And lo and behold:

He discovers a whole new world!
