Don't Panic! Let's Turn the School Upside Down
Mika’s primary school is dilapidated: broken windows, dirty toilets, cordoned-off climbing frames – and now the school garden is to be sold too! But it’s the secret hideaway of Mika and her friends Ibo, Lilly and Milan. They have to prevent the sale at all costs!
Together with the new, rather unusual caretaker Melissa Panic, the four of them turn the school upside down: they paint their classroom in bright colours, organise a demonstration in the schoolyard, make posters and even a video to fight for the preservation of the school garden.
With their commitment and perseverance, they manage to convince headmaster Möckelberg and the city council: the school garden will not be sold, but redesigned into an open-air classroom. Yay!
A warm-hearted, clever and funny novel about self-efficacy, diversity and team spirit – and about how change sometimes starts small and can become something really big.
