Merle Goll, born in 1975 on the Kiel Fjord, went to England as an au pair after her A-levels, studied Graphic Design in Bristol and still lives on the island. In the meantime, the mother of two lives in Twickenham and works there as an illustrator. There are no fish in her bathtub, but her gerbils Shadow and Luna often took a sand bath in it while the illustrator was working on this book.
