The Magic Glasses

On a journey of discovery with Lotta and Ella Propella

Lotta and her dog Ella Propella are inseparable and love going for walks together. One day, they find a pair of magic glasses. They are thrilled to discover that when they put the glasses on, they can see the world through the eyes of others! Lotta discovers scent trails on the ground, while Ella suddenly sees details in her surroundings that were previously hidden from her. Together, they set off on the trail of a particularly mysterious clue and learn fantastic things about the different sensory perceptions of humans and dogs along the way.
Anna Gusella’s colourful illustrations are as imaginative as they are thoughtful, deepening the meaning of the story. Two special pages provide exciting facts about dogs’ senses of sight and smell.

The concept of ‘Schnupperbunt’ was longlisted for the Hamburg Picture Book Award in 2023, and Anna’s title ‘Wolkentiere und Quadrat’ was among the 100 Outstanding Picturebooks of 2024.
