THE STAR LAKE wins Luchs Award of the Year 2025

The jury of the LUCHS writes: "THE STAR LAKE is both realistic and fantastical. Gmehling and Rassmus tell of everyday life in exceptional circumstances, of outsiders who suddenly receive attention, of growing up in difficult conditions, and they show how seemingly small things can influence life. This little book is only 56 pages long; you wish it would go on forever, but no, the author and illustrator also send the most beautiful message with the ending: in the picture with two children on a park bench, in the text with the last word: “Together”."
