Jona Manow originally comes from the theatre stage: after studying German language and literature with a focus on theatre and film in Hamburg, he worked as an assistant director on various projects and finally spent four seasons as a permanent member of the theatre company at Theater Regensburg. He has been a freelance theatre director since 2017 and produced his first short film in 2022. Manow writes plays and prose. His first play for young people, Irgendein Spiel (Some Game), inspired him to write for children and teenagers. Spion Nr. 9 und die Kunst, nicht aufzufallen (Spy No. 9 and the Art of Not Being Noticed) is his first children’s novel.
